The "transitional" Datejust
The Rolex Datejust II (Ref. 116300) was introduced in 2009 as the first Datejust model with a diameter of 41 millimetres. It was, however, replaced by the Datejust 41 (Ref. 126300) in 2016. The new reference essentially has a slimmer body. This makes the Rolex Datejust 2 a transitional model, which is characterised above all by the wider housing.
For sporty wearers
Due to its wide body, the Rolex Datejust 2 is the most present Datejust. Although the Datejust II has the same diameter on paper as the slimmer Datejust 41, it looks much larger thanks to the so-called "pug housing". If you are looking for a Datejust that is known for its elegance, but you are still looking for sporty watches, the Rolex Datejust 2 is a good choice.
Growth thanks to short production?
Rolex Datejust 2 Price Check: So far, a price explosion of the Rolex Datejust 2 has failed to materialise. So it is worth buying a Datejust II now, especially since the watch is no longer in production and the model is benefiting from the general Rolex price increase. It is also not excluded that there will be a sudden hype about Datejust II.
